You will be proud to know that your High School music program has been recognized by the GRAMMY Foundation as a GRAMMY Signature School Enterprise Award
Winner for the second time This entitles our school to a $5,500 award. Application was made in the Fall, and because of the community and administrative support for music in our schools, Allendale advanced to the finals with 150 other schools in the country.
The next step in the process was sending recordings of ensembles, lists of repertoire performed, lists of earned accomplishments, and more details on student enrollment and musical activities. With percentage of students taking a music class (which is off the charts), high standards of music making, and the addition of staff and music classes, the GRAMMY Foundation recognized our commitment to Music in Schools and Allendale High School was awarded the prestigious title of GRAMMY Signature School. There were 13 final winners nationwide.
On behalf of the Allendale Public Schools Music Department, we want to thank you for taking K-12 Music in Allendale seriously and providing your continued support. To read more about the award, go to http://www.grammyintheschools.com/features/announcing-2015-grammy-signature-schools.
